Sanda (Shroud) Campaign Kisumu
Bismillah-ir-Rahman-ir-Raheem
Assalamu Alaikum wa Rahmatullah,
Our brothers and sisters in Kisumu, Kenya, face a pressing need that calls for our support and compassion. The community is experiencing a shortage of sanda (kafan), the shrouds that provide dignity and respect to the deceased in their final moments according to Islamic tradition. As we know, each Muslim deserves to be laid to rest following the Sunnah, wrapped in clean, humble shrouds that honor their journey to meet their Creator.
This simple yet profound need is essential to fulfilling the rights of our deceased. The cost of shrouds is a burden for many families already struggling with other basic necessities. Together, as an Ummah, we can help lift this burden by providing kafan for those in need.
How you can help
Your contribution, no matter the size, will go directly toward purchasing shrouds for Kisumu’s Muslim community. Just as the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) reminded us to “Love for your brother what you love for yourself,” let us support our brothers and sisters in ensuring their loved ones are honored in death as they are in life.
May Allah reward your generosity, forgive our sins, and protect us all. Ameen.
Jazakum Allahu Khairan
